The 1996–97 NBA season was the Bullets' 36th season in the NBA,〔(1996-97 Washington Bullets )〕 The Bullets finished fourth in the Atlantic Division with a 44-38 record, and finally made the playoffs for the first time since the 1987–88 season. In the Eastern Conference First Round, they were swept by the Chicago Bulls. Chris Webber led the team in points, rebounds, and blocks, and was selected for the 1997 NBA All-Star Game. The 1996–97 season was also their final season as the "Bullets", as they would be renamed the "Wizards" next season. ==Offseason==
